My story
Not too long ago I was in Venezuela trying to discover my path. I moved to Houston, Texas in 2007 to pursue a career in Engineering, but after a few adversities I discovered the wonders of Finance. As a part time student, I was able to grow in the Hospitality Industry and became an Event Coordinator, a 9-year journey, which led me understand that my personality is driven by customer interaction.
In summer of 2016, I took a leap and became a full-time student at the University of Houston and graduated in December 2018 (go Coogs!). If we have ever met, you know that staying still is not something that defines me, which is how Moji Calligraphy started. I doodled my way into what became my first project in September 2017.
Moji Calligraphy
Learning Calligraphy all through high school, watching my beautiful grandmother hand write family invites, and growing up with a crafty mother, helped set my knowledge to work (practice, practice, practice). I was able to polish my skills with different Calligraphy courses in the US, and then went onto making this skill profitable.
After 3 years of managing a day job in the Midstream Industry, and keeping Moji Calligraphy part-time, my husband and I welcomed our baby girl, Amelia into our world. This life changing event invited me to make Moji Calligraphy a full-time job, while giving me the opportunity to spend time at home with our little girl.
Calligraphy and all of its forms is elegant, graceful, delicate, bouncy, and fun. With a lot of joy and care I love to transform ordinary words into pieces of art. Moji Calligraphy specializes in envelope addressing, day-of event paper goods, and custom and semi-custom pieces. We service brands, creative houses, weddings, celebrations, corporate events, fundraising events, workshops, and others. We offer modern calligraphy, as well as fun and bouncy lettering. We pride ourselves with high quality and professionalism, personal and attentive care to our clients, and the ability to present a variety of price ranges. I love what I do and how it allows me to connect with people that come to me with many different stories and visions. The art of handwriting brings meaning and tenderness to the words trying to be delivered. I am grateful to be a part of this great community of creatives.
